Today, I am going to explain the should grammar. Would, should, and could grammar is something that many ESL speakers struggle with.
今日はshouldの英文法を説明します。WouldとShouldとCouldの文法が、英語を母語としない人たちがよく間違える文法です。

Today, we will be focusing on should, but I will be breaking down the other two in future videos.
今日は、shouldに焦点を当てます。近日中にリリースするビデオで、WouldとCouldも説明する予定です。

“Should” can be used in a many different ways.
Shouldはいろいろな用法で使用できます。

to express obligation/give advice

First, it can be used to express obligation, or something that is responsibility.
最初に、それは義務、または責任がある何かを表現するために使用できます。

Second, it can be used to give advice, or to suggest a course of action that someone should follow.
次に、アドバイスをしたり、誰かが従うべき一連の行動を提案するために使用できます。

These two go hand in hand, so don’t worry too much about separating them.
この２つの用法は密接に関連しているので、これらを分ける事に心配しなくても良いです。

Here are some examples:

While the definitions I said earlier sound harsh, this is not always the case.
先ほど説明した定義では厳しい表現に思われますが、これはいつもそうではありません。

used in casual conversation

This grammar can be used in casual conversation. I use it many many times in my daily life.
この文法は、カジュアルな会話で使用できます。私は日常生活でも何度も使っています。

For example:
例えば

So like in these three examples, you can use it for food, movies, or music, to give recommendations to your friends.
これら3つの例のように、食べ物や映画や音楽などをお友達に薦めるときに使えます。

I’ve actually used all three of these sentences recently, which is why I chose them.
実はこの英文、私が最近使った表現で、今回例文に選びました。

negative form

The negative form can also be used. Should not, or shouldn’t.
否定形も使えます。否定形はshould notかshouldn’tです。

Shouldn’t is more commonly used because it is easier to say for native speakers. Anyway it’s faster.
短縮系のshouldn’tの方が言いやすいので、もっと一般に使われています。ともかく、それは早い（から言いやすい）。

Shouldn’t is used to give advice against something.
Shouldn’t は何かに対してアドバイスを与えるために使用されます。

shouldn’t have/has + past participle

It is also used to mention something that was a bad decision or maybe a little regretful.
悪い意志決定であったこと、または、少し後悔していることを言及するためにも使用できます。

Because have and the past tense（participle） form follows shouldn’t, this action was already completed.
「shouldn’t」の後に、Have＋過去分詞が続くので、このアクションは既に完了しています。

[Example]
You shouldn’t have yelled.
あなたは怒鳴るべきではなかった

should have/has + past participle

Similarly, this also is the same for the non-negative version.
同様に、これは否定形ではない形でも同じように使えます。

should’ve + past participle

“Should have” also has a shortened version: Should’ve. Combines should have, Should’ve.
「Should have」には短縮系もあります。Should’veです。shouldとhaveを組み合わせてShould’veです。

Should’ve is a bit more natural for native speakers because it’s easier and it’s a little faster.
Should’veは楽で早いので、英語ネイティブスピーカーにとって自然な表現です。
