Today we are going to learn about small talk in English. More specifically, we will learn some useful phrases for talking about your weekend in English.
今日は、スモールトークについて勉強します。特に週末について話す時に役に立つ表現を勉強します。

First, I will talk about why it is important and then, we will move on to practice.
まず最初に、どうしてスモールトークが大切かを説明してから練習に入ります。

First, small talk is very important in American culture. Asking questions about other people’s life shows that you are interested, and care about them.
まずスモールトークは、アメリカの文化でとても重要なことです。他人の人生について質問をすることで、あなたがその人達に興味があり大切に思っているということを示します。

It is considered polite.
それは礼儀正しいと見なされます。

In my experience, this is different from other cultures, but it is important to ask the person you are talking to, if they ask you.
私の経験では、これは他の文化と違いますが、あなたが話をしている人達が何か質問してきたら、（何か）質問を返すことは重要です。

There are a few common ways to ask about the weekend. Here are a few:
週末について質問する方法がいくつあります。例えば：

Will is grammar that is used to talk about the future in English. A good way to respond is something that starts with “I will…”
Willは将来に聞くために使う文法です。返事する時はI willを使えばいいです。

For example, I will bake cookies.
例えば、「私はクッキーを焼きます」

Gonna is the shortened form of “going to”. We often use it when speaking. A good response is something that uses “I’m gonna…”
Gonnaはgoing toの短縮系ですが、話す時だけに使います。返事をする時は I’m gonna から始まるフレーズを使えば良いです。

For example, I’m gonna bake cookies.
例えば、「私はクッキーを焼きます」

For this response, it is important to first say yes or no. Then you can continue with your answer.
返事をする時に、最初に「はい」又は「いいえ」を言うことが重要です。そして続けて答えを言います。

For example, Yes I do. I’m gonna bake cookies.
例えば、「はい。私はクッキーを焼きます」

This is the same as the previous question. You can actually drop the first part, and it still means the same.
前の（No.3）の質問と同じ内容です。（英文の）最初の部分を省略できます、（英文の）意味は同じです。

People use both. Your response should start with yes or no. Yes, I’m gonna bake cookies.
両方が使われています。答えは「はい」「いいえ」で始めてください。「はい。私はクッキーを焼きます」

To answer this question, you can use, “I will” or “I’m gonna”, either are appropriate.
返事する時は、“I will”か“I’m gonna”が使えます、両方とも適切です。

For example, I will gonna bake cookies. I’m gonna bake cookies.
例えば、「私はクッキーを焼きます」「私はクッキーを焼きます」

These all have the same meaning, so you can choose your preference. However, it is important to understand all of them, just in case someone asks you!
全部同じ意味になりますので、あなたが好きな方を使えばいいです。ただし、全部することが重要です。誰かが（そのフレーズで）質問してくる場合もあるからです。
